NEW ORLEANS, La. | Jackson State fell to the New Orleans Privateers after dropping a close 4-3 decision on Wednesday afternoon.
Despite losing the doubles point, the Tigers had three standout performances in singles competition. Paula Corbalan won her match convincingly with a 6-2, 6-3 decision at number one.
Reigning SWAC Player of the Year Zeina Shaaban rallied back from a 3-6 score in the first set to claim the second with a 6-2 score to force a tiebreaker. She went on to win the final set with a 7-5 score.
Chiara Desia also won her match at number six in a 6-4, 6-4 decision.
