Box Score NEW ORLEANS, La. | In the opening round of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championship, 1st-seeded Jackson State women's tennis shut out 8th-seeded Grambling State 4-0 on Friday morning.
The Tigers (13-9, 8-1 SWAC) started hot, winning the doubles point after Zeina Shaaban and Paula Corbalan clinched the win in a 6-1 victory.
After receiving a default win by Chiara Desia, singles wins by Kayleigh Didderiens and Shaaban propelled the Tigers to victory. Didderiens won her match at number three with a 6-0, 6-0 decision, while Shaaban finished Jackson State's first-round matchup with a 6-0, 6-1 win on court one.
