Box Score JACKSON, Miss. | The Jackson State men's tennis team defeated the Austin Peay Governors 4-1 in a home contest on Thursday afternoon.
The Tigers started off the day hot with a quick 6-2 victory by the team of
Federico Pickenstainer and
Jhoan Vaquero at number two.
Gokalp Ayar and
Fabrizio Fallas would follow up with a 6-4 victory at number three to win the doubles point heading into singles competition.
Vaquero continued his momentum into his singles match against Felipe De La Hormoz, claiming the second point for the Tigers after a 6-1, 6-2 victory. Ayar added to Jackson State's point total with a 6-3, 6-1 win at number three. Freshman
Chen Hung-Yu clinched the win for the Tigers with a 6-3, 6-3 victory to give Jackson State its fourth win of the season.
