AUBURN, Ala. – The Jackson State men's tennis team traveled to SEC foe Auburn and dropped a pair of matches 7-0 and 4-0.
In singles competition, No 1.
Andrey Alawi lost a close 6-1, 6-4 decision, No. 2 singles saw
Juan Soria fall 6-1, 6-3 and No. 3
Lebelo Mosehle lost a close 6-3, 6-3 match-up.
No. 4 singles
Fritz Jacobs suffered a 6-2, 6-2 defeat and No. 5
Thomas Torres fell 6-1, 6-0.
JSU dropped a pair of close decisions in doubles competition.
No. 1 Alawi/Mosehle narrowly were defeated 6-3 and No. 2 Jacobs/Soria dropped a close 7-5 decision.
Match 2
Auburn and JSU battled scheduled a second match of the day, which was cut short due to darkness.
No. 1 singles
Thomas Torres fell 6-1, 6-0 and No. 4 Jacobs lost 6-1, 6-1.
In doubles, No. 1 tandem of Alawi/Soria lost 6-2 and No. 2 team of Jacobs/Mosehle fell 6-3.
The men, along with the women's team, is at Louisiana-Lafayette Sunday at noon.
