GAME 11 RECAP: JACKSON STATE 68 | TEXAS SOUTHERN 44
Jackson State looked like a team on a mission in Monday night's impressive victory at Texas Southern, 68-44.The Lady Tigers took control of the contest quickly, leading 19-4 at the end of the first half. In the first half alone, JSU held Texas Southern to just 15 total points, leading the game 38-15 at the break. Lisa Leslie nominee, Ameshya Williams, had 17 points, 13 rebounds, and two blocked shots in the first half with JariyahCovington tallying nine points at the break. With more than a 30-point lead in the second half, Jackson State got a lot of production out of the bench with 26 points and eight Lady Tigers earning more than 15-minutes of action. Jackson State cruised to a 24-point win, defeating Texas Southern by a final score of 68-44 to win it's fourth SWAC game in a row. Williams led all Lady Tigers with 23 points, 16 rebounds, and three blocked shots. She was also a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line. Covington provided 11-points on 5-of-10 shooting while Dayzsha Rogan was able to add 10 points in the contest. Elexis Peyton had six points to go along with seven rebounds in 19 minutes of play. Antionette Womack also added seven rebounds on the night. As a team, JSU shot 24-of-59, with 59 rebounds, and 28 bench points.  The win pushed JSU over .500 overall on the season with a record of 6-5 and 5-1 in SWAC play.

The Jackson State Lady Tigers compiled 103 points in a fifty point win Saturday evening, winning 103-53 over Mississippi Valley State. The Lady Tigers were led by Dayzsha Rogan who was 9-of-17 from the field with 26 points. Rogan also tallied four 3-pointers (4-of-9) and five rebounds. Kristy Parker scored 14 points on 6-of-14 shooting. Parker has scored 10+ in the last two games after averaging nearly two points a game in the first 23 games of the season. Reigning SWAC Player of the Week, Ameshya Williams, was a perfect 5-for-5 on the night with 11 points in limited action. Cherelle Jones tallied 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting including six rebounds. J'Niya Tallie has seven assists including back-to-back no look assists that result in two Elexis Peyton buckets. Peyton has eight points in the game. Jackson State shot 42-of-74 (56.8 percent) as a team including earning 44 points off of the bench.  JSU made nine 3-pointers in the contest and managed to score 56 points in the paint and 35 points off of turnovers. Jackson State improved to 16-9 overall and a conference best 14-1.

Jackson State has three players averaging double-digit points through ten games with preseason first-team All-SWAC nominee, Dayzsha Rogan averaging 16.5 points per game. Jackson State newcomer, Jariyah Covington is having a fantastic season in her first year, averaging 11.3 points per game, with 21 assists, and 10 steals. SWAC Preseason Player and Defensive Player of the Year, Ameshya Williams, averages 16.8 points per game. She also leads Jackson State with 12.1 rebounds per game. For the season, Williams also leads the team with 36 blocked shots.
