HUNTSVILLE, ALA. - Jackson State women's basketball will round out the Alabama swing with a matchup at Alabama A&M University tomorrow evening. The Lady Tigers enter the contest with an overall record of 4-6 with a SWAC record of 2-0, while the Bulldogs of Alabama A&M University have a record of 4-9 overall with two wins and one loss so far in SWAC play.
As a team, JSU shot 42.1 percent (24-for-57) from the field. The Blue and White held Alabama State to 31.8 percent (21-for-56) from the floor. Senior and All-American candidate Ameshya Williams-Holliday finished with a monster 26 points with 18 (!!) rebounds and three blocks and steals respectively. Williams-Holliday finished 8-for-12, a percentage of 66.7, from the field, and converted 10-of-13 attempts at the charity stripe. Dayzsha Rogan also had a twenty-point finish, shooting 46-percent from the field with seven made shots, and was perfect at the free throw line.
The Bulldogs are averaging 34.6 percent shooting from the floor, with 3.2 buckets, 38.5 rebounds, and 14.6 turnovers per game. Dariauna Lewis leads AAMU in scoring, rebounds, blocks, and shooting percentage. Nigeria Jones leads the Bulldogs in assists, steals, three-point percentage, and free throw percentage.
