HOUSTON, Texas| The Jackson State women's basketball team is set to take on Texas Southern Monday evening at H&PE Arena to close out its Texas swing for the season.

Jackson State (6-8, 3-1 SWAC) fell Saturday afternoon to Prairie View A&M on the road, 69-65. Jariyah Covington scored 22 points in the loss, while Ti'Ian Boler finished with 13 points. Angel Jackson also tacked on five points and nine rebounds for the Tigers.

Texas Southern (1-15, 1-4 SWAC) fell in overtime to Alcorn State Saturday at home. Micah Gray posted 27 points, four rebounds and two assists in the loss for the maroon and white. Taniya Lawson added 11 points, seven rebounds and one assist.
