JACKSON, Miss.| The Jackson State men's tennis team hosted Jacksonville State University at the JSU Tennis Center Saturday afternoon. The Tigers fell to the Gamecocks 6-1 in their home season opener.

How It Happened
- Raul Centeno and Francisco Vargas were successful in doubles as they topped Lucius Soller and Vanja Dobrnja 6-4 to open the day
- Carlos Castillo and Richy Gamo defeated Xavier Sarda Marti and Vicente Arbelaez, 6-4 to claim the doubles point for Jackson State
- Jaz State's Xavier Sarda Marti defeated Francisco Vargas in singles, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2
- Raul Centeno fell to Alin Fatu, 4-6, 6-3, 6-0
- Jesus Gonzales dropped his singles matchup to Vicente Arbelaez , 5-7, 2-6
- Alejandro Pinilla also fell to Lucius Soller, 3-6, 3-6
- Richy Gamo won one set, but couldn't finish as Vanja Dobrnjac defeated Gamo, 7-1, 6-7, 6-2
- Carlos Castillo wrapped up the Tigers' singles matches with a loss to Logan Haga, 6-2, 5-7, 6-4
