JACKSON, Miss.| The Jackson State women's basketball team will return to the Lee E. Williams Athletic and Assembly Center Saturday to host in-state rival Alcorn State for its Pink Game. Tip-off is set for 12:30 p.m. CT and the game will be streamed live on HBCU Go TV.
Jackson State (15-8, 12-1 SWAC) returns to its home court after completing the season sweep of Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman. The Tigers topped the Wildcats 77-52 on the road Monday. Jackson State had three players score in double figures, led byÂ
Jariyah Covington, who had 17 points.
Ti'Ian Boler tacked on 16 points, six assists and three steals andÂ
Daphane White helped out with 13 points, seven rebounds and two blocks.
Alexis Roberts also had three offensive rebounds for the Tigers.
Jackson State shot 48.5 percent (32-for-66) from the field and 69.2 percent (9-for-13) from the free throw line. The Tigers finished with 46 points in the paint, 16 bench points, 10 points off 11 B-CU turnovers, eight second chance points and four fast break points.
Alcorn State (10-14, 6-7 SWAC) is coming off a 73-67 road win against Florida A&M after falling to Bethune-Cookman last Saturday. The Braves played a close game throughout the entire contest, tying the score five times and exchanging leads with the Rattlers eight times. Destiny Brown and Nakia Cheatham each registered 18 points, while Brown tacked on 14 rebounds.
Jackson State increases its win streak to nine straight heading into its matchup with Alcorn State. The Tigers continue to hold the 1
st ranked defense and offense in the conference.Â

Jackson State is opening its final home stretch of the season beginning with Alcorn State Saturday. The Tigers opened conference play against the Braves on the road Jan.2. JSU secured the 59-49 victory in the teams' last matchup.
Saturday's game is a pink game in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness and the #Play4Kay initiative. All fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of the cause.
