The Jackson State baseball team returns to action in a three-game weekend series hosting Alabama State at Braddy Field.
Due to forecasted weather, Friday's game is now scheduled for 3 p.m., with Saturday's game at 3 p.m. and Sunday's contest scheduled for 1 p.m.

Jackson State (13-5 overall, 1-2 SWAC) lost its opening Southwestern Athletic Conference series at home to Alabama A&M last weekend, winning the middle of three games against the Bulldogs. Â The Tigers still hold the #1 ranking in the latest Black College Nines baseball poll.
CF Jatavis Melton led the Tigers at the plate in the series, hitting .545 (6-of-11) with seven runs scored and four RBI. 3B Myles White went 4-for-8 against AAMU, scoring four runs.
INF Ty Hill is currently on a 10-game hitting streak, has at least one hit in 16 of 17 games played, and has been on base in all 17 games he has played this season. Hill ranks third in the SWAC in batting average (.413), second in OPS (1.304), SLG% (.762), third in OB% (.542), is tied for fifth in RBI (23), tied for fourth in runs (23), tied for first in doubles (nine), tied for sixth in triples (two), and is tied for 11th in both hits (23) and home runs (three).  Â
Alabama State (12-10, 1-2), the defending SWAC Champion and ranked 4th in the Black College Nines poll, is coming off a series loss at Bethune-Cookman. INF Randy Flores (5th in SWAC with .393 avg., 2 HR, 8th in SWAC with 21 RBI) and OF Ian Matos (7th in SWAC with .387 avg., 1st in SWAC with 6 HR, 9th in SWAC with 20 RBI) leads the Hornets.
