Baseball To Play Wednesday At Home Vs. Butler

The Jackson State baseball team has added a home midweek game and will play Butler Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Braddy Field.

The game will be streamed live at jacksonstatesports.com, with live stats available at gojsutigers.com.

Jackson State (11-2) has won nine games in a row, including a 6-0 week. The Tigers won at home over UAPB Tuesday (8-6), and swept both games in a Wednesday doubleheader over Tougaloo (17-10, 21-8). JSU then went on the road and won all three games at Alcorn (13-1, 19-7, 17-5), all in seven innings.

As a team, Jackson State hit .375 last week, with 26 extra-base hits (13 doubles, eight triples, five home runs) among its 75 total hits. OF Jordan Smiley went 8-24 with five extra-base hits (three doubles, two triples) and drove in 19 runs.

Ty Hill leads the Tigers with a .447 average, with 12 of his 47 hits going for extra bases (seven doubles, two triples, three home runs).

Butler (2-10) is coming off a four-game weekend in Baton Rouge, La., losing twice to #1 LSU and Central Connecticut State.
