The Jackson State baseball team will be on the road at Florida A&M for a three-game series in Tallahassee.
Due to forecasted weather in Mississippi, this weekend's series was moved to Florida. Game times are Thursday and Friday at 4 p.m. central time and Saturday at noon at Moore-Kittles Field. Â Florida A&M will now travel to Jackson for games May 5-7 at Braddy Field.
Jackson State (16-10 overall, 3-6 SWAC) is coming off a Tuesday home loss to the University of New Orleans.
Marcus Atterberry has been the Tigers' hottest hitter over the past four games, hitting .615 (8-13) with four home runs and 10 RBI. Atterberry has homered in three of the last four games, including a two-run homer against the Privateers Tuesday night. On the season, Atterberry is batting .358 with four home runs and 17 RBI.
Ty Hill is second in the SWAC in batting average (.422), is first in both on-base plus slugging% (1.280) and on-base% (.558), and is tied for first in slugging% (.722). Hill is also tied for eighth in hits (38), tied for first in doubles (12), tied for third in triples (three), has tied a career-high in home runs (three), is tied for eighth in runs scored (29), and is tied for fourth in RBI (31).
Jackson State ranks third in the league in batting average (.299) and fourth in earned run average (6.88).
Florida A&M (13-16, 7-2) is tied for first in the SWAC's Eastern Division with Alabama State and Bethune-Cookman. The Rattlers lost two of three to B-CU this past weekend and are coming off a Tuesday night loss at Mercer. Janmikell Bastardo leads Florida A&M in batting average (.400 / 5th in SWAC), is tied for the team lead, and is tied for fourth in the SWAC in home runs (six).
