JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh to come from behind for the second straight game, defeating Mississippi Valley State 5-4 in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) action completing the sweep at Braddy Field on Sunday afternoon.

Jackson State (19-5, 5-0 SWAC) trailed 4-1 through four innings before scoring a pair of runs in the fifth and two in the seventh to win its fifth straight conference game. The Tigers were held to four hits on the day by three Mississippi Valley State pitchers with
Robert Tate Jr. finishing 2-for-4 to lead the way.

Je-andrick Lourens (2-1), the third of four pitchers used on the day, picked up the win working 4.2 innings allowing three hits and striking out eight.
Christian Womble picked up his third save of the season, his second of the weekend, working the final inning and striking out the side for the second consecutive game.

How It Happened
- (B3) Davione Hull reached on a throwing error allowing Rodney Hibler Jr. to score, Jackson State 1-0.
- (T4) Ty Washington reached on a fielding error allowing a run to score before Will Menedez delivered a two-run single to right, Mississippi Valley State 4-1.
- (B5) Joseph Eichelberger reached on a fielding error allowing Hibler to score before the Tigers used a bases-loaded walk to Sebastian Cabeza to pull within one, Mississippi Valley State 4-3.
- (B7) Miles Thomas drove in the game-winning run with a pinch-hit single while a throwing error allowed another to score, Jackson State 5-4.
