JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State battled from behind to take the lead after six innings before walking off Alabama A&M 9-8 at Braddy Field in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) action to win the series on Sunday afternoon.

Falling behind 6-0 after just two innings, Jackson State (23-11, 8-6 SWAC) battled back to take the lead with four runs in the sixth inning before Alabama A&M tied the game up in the seventh. The Tigers started the bottom of the ninth off with
Lenny Montesano reaching on an error before
Joseph Eichelberger reached on a bunt to send pinch-runner
Edward Gregory Jr. over to third. After an intentional walk to
Sebastian Cabeza loaded the bases,
Robert Tate Jr. was hit with a 3-2 pitch to bring in Gregory with the winning run.

Jordan McCladdie led a 12-hit Jackson State attack going 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and a pair of RBI, while three other players picked up multiple hits.
Rodney Hibler Jr. finished 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored while Eichelberger and
Myles White each picked up a pair of hits.

Christian Womble (3-2) picked up the win in relief of starter
Erick Gonzalez, working the final 3.0 innings of scoreless relief with three strikeouts. Meanwhile, Gonzalez logged 6.0 innings with five strikeouts battling back from an early six-run deficit.

- (T1) Brycen Hammond hit a solo home run to left, Alabama A&M 1-0.
- (T2) Miles Jackson hit a solo home run to left followed by an RBI single to left by Dre Amaral and a two-run single by Hammonds to left, Alabama A&M 6-0.
- (B3) McCladdie triple to center to put the Tigers on the board, Alabama A&M 6-1.
- (B4) White doubled down the left field line to drive in Tate and Cabeza, Alabama A&M 6-3.
- (B5) Eichelberger doubled down the left field line to score McCladdie, Alabama A&M 6-4.
- (B6) Hibler reached on a bunt single back to the pitcher allowing White to score followed by an RBI single by McCladdie. The inning continued with an RBI single from Montesano, Jackson State 8-6.
- (T7) Tristan Curless hit a solo home run to center followed by a sacrifice fly by Jared Tribett, 8-8.
- (B9) Tate was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, Jackson State 9-8.

Jackson State returns to action on Tuesday against Tougaloo with the first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m. at Braddy Field, a game originally scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
