DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. | Bethune-Cookman used a four-run first inning to pull away from Jackson State and the Tigers couldn't rebound, falling to the Wildcats 6-2 in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) action at Jackie Robinson Field.

Rodney Hibler Jr. and
Lenny Montesano led the eight-hit attack for Jackson State (20-9, 5-4 SWAC) with two hits each with Hibler reaching base a third time with a walk.
Garrett VanDeventer (3-3) suffered the loss working 8.0 innings allowing six runs (five earned) on 11 hits with eight strikeouts.

How It Happened
- (B1) Sergio Rivera reached on an infield single before Jose Gonzalez singled to center followed by a squeeze from Irvin Escobar. The Wildcats ended the inning with a single from Manny Soffrain, Bethune-Cookman 4-0.
- (B2) Garrett Chun reached on a fielding error allowing a run to score, Bethune-Cookman 5-0.
- (B3) Escobar tripled down the right field line to extend the lead, Bethune-Cookman 6-0.
- (T8) Hibler tripled to right center to drive in McCladdie, Bethune-Cookman 6-1.
- (T9) Hasan Standifer singled to right center to score Myles White, Bethune-Cookman 6-2.
