JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State dropped the first game of its Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series to Bethune-Cookman 9-5 at Braddy Field on Friday night.

Jackson State (30-18, 13-12 SWAC) and Bethune-Cookman (28-22, 18-7 SWAC) each pounded out 14 hits with six players picking up multiple hits for the Tigers.
Rodney Hibler Jr. finished the night 2-for-4 with a triple, run scored, and an RBI, while
Arjun Huerta finished 2-for-3 with a double.

Jordan McCladdie finished 2-for-5 with an RBI and run scored,
Myles White was 2-for-5 with an RBI, and
Robert Tate Jr. was 2-for-5 with a run scored.
Sebastian Cabeza finished 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Garrett VanDeventer (6-5) suffered the loss working 6.1 innings allowing eight runs (seven earned) on 10 hits with a pair of strikeouts.
Brandon Haston and
Miles Thomas combined to work 2.2 innings allowing one run on four hits with four combined strikeouts.

How It Happened
- (B1) Lenny Montesano reached on an error allowing McCladdie to score, Jackson State 1-0.
- (T2) Manny Souffrain hit a two-run home run to left followed by a sacrifice fly, fielding error, and an RBI groundout, Bethune-Cookman 4-1.
- (B2) Cabeza drove in Tate on an RBI groundout, Bethune-Cookman 4-2.
- (T4) Daniel Figueroa singled through the left side to drive in a run before an RBI groundout extended the lead, Bethune-Cookman 6-2.
- (T5) Jorge Gonzalez Febo drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, Bethune-Cookman 7-2.
- (T6) Jose Gonzalez drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, Bethune-Cookman 8-2.
- (B6) Hibler tripled to center to drive in Cabeza before McCladdie singled up the middle to drive in Hibler, Bethune-Cookman 8-4.
- (T9) The Wildcats used a bases-loaded walk to get on the board, Bethune-Cookman 9-4.
- (B9) White drove in a run with an RBI groundout, Bethune-Cookman 9-5.Â
