JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State head softball coach Kevin Montgomery received a contract extension, announced by the Jackson State University Division of Athletics on Thursday morning.
Montgomery becomes the sixth coach in the last three months to receive a contract extension from Vice President/Director of Athletics Ashley Robinson, joining T.C. Taylor (football), Mo Williams (basketball), Marcus Hereford (volleyball), Dr. Ted Flogaites (soccer), and Hernan Geria (tennis). Last season, Montgomery helped Jackson State win its first Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) championship for the first time since 2011, advancing to the NCAA Tournament with the school's second softball championship.
