JACKSON, Miss. | Jackson State is set for its first weekend home series of the season, hosting Alcorn State beginning Friday night at Smith Wills Stadium and concluding on Saturday.
The two teams will play a single game on Friday night beginning at 6 p.m., and will follow that with a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday.
Jackson State (6-2) is led by Joseph Eichelberger (.450/1.221/.650/.571) at the plate with nine hits in 20 official at-bats. He has recorded a double and a home run. Meanwhile, Wilbert Perez (.333/.943/.556/.387) is over .300 for the Tigers with nine hits including three doubles and a home run, as well as Ledy Alvarez (.321/.957/.500/.457) with two doubles and a home run. Arjun Huerta (.545/1.497/.909/.558) has six hits in five games including a double and a home run.
On the mound, Jackson State is led by Nkosi Didder (1-1, 1.13 ERA) out of the bullpen with 8.0 innings pitched. He has allowed a pair of runs on two hits with seven strikeouts. Eric Elliott (1-0, 1.54 ERA) has started three games this season for the Tigers and logged 11.2 inning with 14 strikeouts, while CJ Lewis (0-0, 2.16 ERA) has appeared six times out of the bullpen. A pair of weekend starters, Erick Gonzalez (0-0, 6.23 ERA) and Brandon Haston (0-1, 0.00 ERA) have combined for 18 strikeouts.
