ATLANTA, Ga.| After an extraordinary year on the hardwood,
Taleah Dilworth has been named SWAC Player of the Year and SWAC Newcomer of the Year. Dilworth also brings in an All-SWAC First Team honor.
In her first season at Jackson State, Dilworth led the conference in scoring most of the season registering a total of 475 points and averaging 16.4 points a game. She opened the 2024-25 campaign scoring her 1,000th career point on the road against Missouri. Dilworth has recorded 28 double-figure scoring games this season.Â
After starting in all 29 games for the Tigers this season, Dilworth also leads the SWAC in field goal percentage (.455), free throw attempts (21st nationally), free throws (24th nationally), and points per game (16.4).
The Jackson State women's basketball team will open play in the 2025 Starry SWACÂ Basketball Tournament presented by Buick on Thursday. JSU will face No. 5 Grambling State at Gateway Center Arena at College Park at 5:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
