RIDGELAND, Miss. – Jacksonville State defeated Jackson State 7-0 in the season-opener Sunday afternoon. The match, originally set to take place at the JSU Soccer Field, was moved to Ridgeland High School due to poor field conditions.
Faith Toennies finished with a match-high eight saves.
Patty Calderon, Jolene Ceniceros, and Alexis Henriquez each added a shot on goal.
JSU (0-1-0) returns to action next weekend with a pair of matches. The Lady Tigers are at North Alabama, Friday, August 24 and travel to Tennessee-Martin, Sunday, August 26.
