JACKSON, Miss. – The Jackson State soccer team heads to Lake Charles, La. To take on McNeese State University tomorrow evening beginning at 7 p.m.
The Lady Tigers are taking on a squad that currently sits with an overall record of 2-3 with wins over Southern University and Prairie View. In those two wins they combined to outscore the opposing opponent 7-1.
The Cowgirls hold three losses to the likes of LSU (1-0 loss), Arkansas (7-0 loss), and Louisiana Tech (3-2 loss).
McNeese State is coming off of a season in which they finished with an overall record of 13-7-1 and return several key players from last year's team.
The Cowgirls have a total of nine goals scored on the season and are led by Anna Watson who has a total of three goals on the season on ten shots, with seven shots on goal.
Behind Watson is Hannah Johnson with two goals scored on six total shots. Mariah Ruelas, Keely Morrow, Delana Friesen, and Olivia Broussard each have collected one goal apiece to round out the remaining goals scored by McNeese State.
The team is led by head coach Drew Fitzgerald and assistant coaches Nick Whiting and Kylee Hathaway. Fitzgerald enters his fourth year at the helm of the Cowgirls soccer program after serving four seasons as coach at Missouri State.

In 2018, Fitzgerald and the program set a new record for most wins in a season (13), including a victory over SEC Power, Arkansas.
Jackson State and McNeese State will meet for just the second time in program history after meeting for the first time last season in which the Cowgirls edged JSU by a final score of 6-0.
The Lady Tigers will look to get into the win column tomorrow evening for its first win of 2019.
