BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has announced its Spring 2021 SWAC Soccer Tournament seedings as the Lady Tigers draw the No. 4 overall seed and are set to take on No. 5 Texas Southern.
Looking at the overall bracket, the 2021 SWAC Regular Season Champion Alabama State Lady Hornets enter the tournament as the No. 1 seed (6-0-1) SWAC) while Grambling State enters the tournament as the No. 2 seed (6-1-1 SWAC).
Prairie View A&M claimed the No. 3 seed (5-2 SWAC) in the tournament followed by No.4 seed Jackson State (5-3 SWAC). Texas Southern is the No. 5 seed (2-5 SWAC) followed by No. 6 seed Southern (2-2 SWAC).
Arkansas-Pine Bluff (1-7 SWAC) and Alcorn State (0-8 SWAC) will enter the tournament as the No. 7 and No. 8 seeds respectively. The Lady Tigers and Texas Southern will go head to head in the first round of the SWAC Tournament beginning on Thursday, April 8, with a 12:30 p.m. CST matchup set at the PVAMU Soccer Complex in Prairie View, Texas.
The Spring 2021 SWAC Soccer Tournament is slated to be played on April 8-11 at the PVAMU Soccer Complex located on the campus of Prairie View A&M University. This year's event will operate with a 25 percent capacity limit for general spectators per match.
The championship match for the event is scheduled to be carried live on the SWAC Digital Network on Sunday, April 11 at 11:00 am CST.
