Soccer Ends With A Tie Versus Texas Southern

Box Score JACKSON, Miss - Jackson State and Texas Southern played down to a scoreless tie on Sunday in a contest that was highlighted by solid defense and fierce competition.

"In all honesty, it feels like a loss because we were definitively the better team", head coach Dr. Ted Flogaites said. "We again conceded nothing, zero dangerous chances, and our backline deserves immense credit for the shutout. Not just 110 scoreless minutes, but no real shots on frame, that's big time. I'm extremely proud of our players. We competed very well and we've taken what we worked on in training and applied it. Once we find the cutting edge in the final third, the puzzle will be complete. I'm taking away only positivity because we were very, very good again today. Results will come as long as we remain committed to the process of learning and getting better."

JSU recorded 16 shots with 14 on goal.

Jackson State will get several days off before returning to action on October 1 versus Grambling State at the GSU Soccer Field.
