JACKSON, Miss.| The Jackson State University women's soccer team is set to take on Alabama A&M in the opening match of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Soccer Tournament Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the PVAMU Soccer Complex.

The #1 seed Jackson State Tigers rounded out the regular season 8-7-1 overall and 7-1-1 in SWAC play. The Tigers also claimed the 2022 SWAC Regular Season Title after defeating Texas Southern 2-0 on Oct. 23. JSU's first conference loss of the season came against Southern University Oct. 28.

The Tigers opened conference play at home in a 0-0 tie against Grambling State. Jackson State went on to blank Arkansas Pine-Bluff, Alcorn State and Mississippi Valley State on the road, Alabama State and Alabama A&M. JSU met Prairie View A&M in Texas walking away with the 3-1 victory over the Panthers.

Alabama State (4-11-2, 2-5-2 SWAC) is coming off a 1-0 loss against Alcorn State at home. The Bulldogs took on the Tigers during JSU's final home stretch Oct. 16. Jackson State topped Alabama A&M 2-0.

The 2022 SWAC Soccer Tournament will run from Nov. 3-6 in Prairie View, Texas at the PVAMU Soccer Complex. All matches are slated to be streamed on SWAC Digital Network.
