JACKSON, Miss.| The Jackson State soccer team is set to host Northwestern State Friday afternoon at the JSU Soccer Field. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
 
Jackson State (1-3) ended its last weekend stretch with a loss to ULM at home Sunday. The Tigers fell 2-1 after scoring first in the first half with a goal from Amalia Fonua. Roughly five minutes into the second half, the Warhawks evened the game, scoring a goal at the 50:49 mark. Sage Magruder attempted to give the Tigers the lead at 79:30, but ULM registered the save. The Warhawks scored again at the 81:49 mark to advance 2-1 and secure the victory.
Jordan Hamilton recorded 10 saves in the match out of 20 ULM shots. Hamilton was tabbed SWAC Goalkeeper of the Week for her outstanding performance in the match. Ayanna Pinder was named SWAC Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Northwestern State (1-4) is coming off a 1-0 win against Alabama A&M at home Sunday evening. The Lady Demons overcame AAMU on a late penalty kick in the 66^th minute.
 
Jackson State will travel to Southeastern Louisiana afternoon for its last non-conference matchup on the road. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. JSU will close out non-conference action at home against McNeese State (Sept. 16) and USC Upstate (Sept. 18).
